School Wide Initiatives:

  • Ongoing recycling - stewardship of the earth
  • Generosity Boxes - St. Vincent de Paul Society - month of November
  • Can Drive - collecting nonperishable food items for the Salvation Army in the month of December
  • Water of All Lenten Project - Development & Peace

Classroom/Division Based Initiatives:

  • Peacekeepers & our Librarian have been raising funds to support our two foster children while they have been raising awareness about them.
  • Middle School students  held a bake sale to raise funds for Diabetes research ($350) in the month of October & held a Candy Cane sale to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research ($730) in December.
  • Primary French Immersion students are focused on raising money to provide clean water in Africa through a sponsor-a-well project.   
  • Kindergarten English has been writing & sending drawings for our soldiers in Afghanistan, as well as fundraising to support our foster children.
  • Grade 1E will be creating Easter baskets/bags to give to seniors at Aven Manor.  They will bring the items there personally & sing for the seniors.
  • Grade 3E collected, counted and rolled over 7000 pennies for the St. Vincent de Paul. Deacon Brian was invited in to the classroom. He talked about the Society of St. Vincent de Paul here in Yellowknife and accepted the pennies ($72.50) to help people in need in our community.
  • 3/4E held a book/toy sale and then purchased mitts, hats & socks for the homeless (donated to the Salvation Army) 
  • 4E raised money from a popcorn sale to purchase wheelchairs for Haiti
  • 6E-M held a Subway day to raise money for the NET Team ($300)
  • 7E raised over $1000.00 for Jackie's House Orphanage in the Dominican Republic
  • 5/6F is collecting toiletries for women & children in local Yellowknife shelters through the YWCA's Diana's Closet initiative
  • 2F is raising funds for Project Love in order to provide school supplies for Haitian children.
